Italian Quinine at Your Table

Cleveland seems to be the home to many traditions and family customs. Gallucci’s has always been there for the people of greater Cleveland. Gallucci’s opened up in 1912 and has been pleasing people’s appetites ever since. Gallucci’s started off as a little family run Italian grocery store and has grown to so much more. Located of the east side of Cleveland the authentic Gallucci’s Italian Restaurant has been thieving for many years and will continue to do so.

Gallucci’s was founded 100 years ago by Gust Gallucci. Gust was an Italian immigrant, hungry for the flavor of his home town he started up Gallucci’s (Mitchell). The market was ready for any business when Gust opened up the business, that’s why Gallucci’s has lasted so long. There First location was in Cleveland’s old central market. When the market raised their prices Gallucci’s moved locations. Gallucci’s moved Euclid Avenue and has been there since 1988 (Snook). Since Gallucci’s has pleased so many generations they are said to be as much of a neighbor as they are an Italian grocery store (Crea).

Gallucci’s has just celebrated their 100th anniversary. Along with the Gallucci family the whole community will celebrate (Crea). The Gallucci family celebrated together because they have always run the company together. The store today is still run by the grandson, granddaughter, and great-grandson of the owner Gust (Pagonakis). Since all the family members have pitched into this company they have just recently opened there forth location. They have been able to open so many locations because of their quality of food. Ray Gallucci visits Italy multiply times a year looking for the best quality of many different types of foods. In 2010 the Italian Government just recognized Ray by presenting him the Distinguished service award for “Promoting the Italian way of life” (Snook). There family has high standards for their company but they feel they always have room for improvement.

Gallucci’s has many things in store for there customers. Their customers will drive hours to visit so Gallucci’s really feel like they need to please their customers. So with their new locations they hope to have room for wine making and cooking classes. They would just like to have more room at their main location (Crea). To make their store a full experience they speak Italian to other employees so you feel like you’re really in an Italian market. Since it is a family run business they take much pride into their work and try to give you the best quality of food out there.

When you walk into Gallucci’s the aroma is to intoxicating you don’t quit know where to turn. The store is so full of life and energy; it seems to put everyone in a better mood. When you’re tired from your long drive to Gallucci’s, just seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces will put you in a better mood. This is the exact atmosphere that Gallucci’s is trying to pursue. Producing a family environment that provides many products is there main goal.

Gallucci’s just wants to make their customers happy. That has been there number one goal since opening day. With their large selection of products they are likely to please every customer. Come on in and try it out, take in the Italian experience and judge Gallucci’s for yourself. Gallucci’s is not just a grocery store but it also has a small seating area for a quick lunch. After one hundred years in business there not going anywhere, we should all be happy about that.

New Age of Modern Literature

The characters of Avatar protray a very similiar life as the native americans had. The minimal clothing and how they seem to have a main trible leader. The way they use horses as there transpertation and how the Avatars much hunt for there food. In the movie when an animal was wounded and was forced to die it was a sad time. The Avatar worship animal the same way the native americans had. The Avatar were also starting to be controlled but the foregnier but the Avatar pushed them away. The native americans could not push them away but they could not be controlled into slavery beauase they had week immune systems and became sick easily. There was many struggles with both ways of life but they both made it out in the end!!

Interpretation of African Proverb

"Untill the lion has his or her own storyteller, the hunter will always have the best part of the story."
This sentence could mean many diffrent things to many diffrent people. To me this statement is saying that you must hear all sides of the story or you arent going to hear the truth. The hunter is always the main charater and you always get to hear his point of view. The lion could have more to say that could change the whole story. This goes back to the video we just watched TED. When they talk about making stereo types, well thats what will happen if you only hear one side of the story. You need to hear every point of view so you can make your own opinion about the story.
